Μπορεί η Nintendo να μείνει στο ίδιο μήκος κύμματος με τις Sony και Microsoft;
Η εταιρία ερευνών Screen Digest πιστεύει πως τα PlayStation 4 και Xbox 720 θα απομονώσουν το Wii U στην αγορά ενώ το πρόβλημα είναι η ισχύς: το Wii U έχει παρόμοια ισχύ με τα PlayStation 3 και Xbox 360 όπως είπε και η Screen Digest:
“We believe Nintendo looks increasingly isolated in the market. It does not have the luxury of a wider device ecosystem play such as Sony, Apple or Microsoft and it is behind the curve in its online and cloud content strategies,” είπε ο άνθρωπος της Screen Digest, κος Piers Harding-Rolls στο Edge.
Τι περιμένουμε να δούμε;
Για να προωθήσει δε το Wii U, η Nintendo θα πρέπει να δώσει έμφααση στο sharing με άλλες συσκευές λέει η έρευνα, όπως κάνουν Microsoft και Sony: “We would like to see Nintendo be more aggressive in ‘hinging’ off its devices using its online platform – Nintendo Network – onto third-party devices as Microsoft is starting to do with Xbox Smartglass and Sony is doing with PlayStation Mobile.”
“Neither of these solutions is significant at present but it does show that these companies are willing to engage users on the most popular third-party connected devices to drive relevance for their own products.”
Η δε ανάλυση δίνει και ιδέες όπως μια άλλη σχέση με τα κινητά mobile ή να μείνει χαμηλά η τιμή: “This will keep the platforms relatively competitive,” Harding-Rolls said about the subsidy mechanic. “Nintendo will be late to adopt a subsidized pricing strategy but could be forced to examine it if Microsoft and Sony push forward with it.”
Η μεγάλη μάχη ξεκινά φέτος και θα συνεχιστεί το 2014.
