Αναπόφευκτο;
Σε κάθε περίπτωση για όσους χρησιμοποιούν το Google Reader, η εταιρία δυστυχώς ‘σκοτώνει’ τον RSS reader στην 1η Ιουλίου.
Η δε Google δεν έχει επενδύσει και πολλά στον Reader πέρα από έναν μικρό ανασχεδιασμό αλλά και πάλι, αναρωτιέται κανείς γιατί το κάνει:
“We launched Google Reader in 2005 in an effort to make it easy for people to discover and keep tabs on their favorite websites. While the product has a loyal following, over the years usage has declined,” είπε ο άνθρωπος της Google κος Urs Hölzle, SVP of Technical Infrastructure.
“So, on July 1, 2013, we will retire Google Reader. Users and developers interested in RSS alternatives can export their data, including their subscriptions, with Google Takeout over the course of the next four months,” σημείωσε.
Η Google το έθαψε ως νέο και μόνο στο Google Reader blog είδε κανείς κάποια νέα με τους φαν του προϊόντος να είναι εξαιρετικά εκνευρισμένοι και να δίνουν μάχη στο Twitter.
Και για bloggers και για journalists, το Reader είναι δημοφιλές και για developers οπότε ελπίζουμε σε αντικαταστάτη….
