Μήπως μας λύσει το πρόβλημα το digg; Η εταιρία social news Digg ανακοίνωσε την υπηρεσία RSS που θα αντικαταστήσει το Google Reader.
Με την ανακοίνωση της ακύρωσης του Reader στην 1η Ιουλίου του 2013 λόγω μειούμενης user base: “users and developers interested in RSS alternatives can export their data, including their subscriptions, with Google Takeout over the course of the next four months”.
Φαίνεται πως το Digg πάντως θα κάνει την αρπαχτή και θα ρίξει το αντίπαλο προϊόν της Google με τον δικό της RSS reader. Όπως έγραψε στο Digg official blog, ο άνθρωπος της εταιρίας, ο κος Andrew McLaughlin η εταιρία είχε στόχο να reader in late 2013 but Google’s announcement had pushed the project forward.
Τι θέλουν να κάνουν αυτοί οι καλοί άνθρωποι;
“After Google’s announcement, we’re moving the project to the top of our priority list. We’re going to build a reader, starting today,” είπε ο κος McLaughlin ενώ δεν θα ετοιμάσουν έναν κλώνο της Google παρά θα προσθέσουν στοιχεία που έβγαλε η Google από τον Reader:
“We hope to identify and rebuild the best of Google Reader’s features (including its API), but also advance them to fit the internet of 2013, where networks and communities like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit and Hacker News offer powerful but often overwhelming signals as to what’s interesting,” είπε ο McLaughlin και εμείς ελπίζουμε να πάει μπροστά το project Digg is also canvassing for feature suggestions and feedback from users.
