Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit. Φιλόδοξο…
Ο “Παγκόσμιος Στρατιώτης” έρχεται πιο γρήγορα. Στις ΗΠΑ, το ΥΕΘΑ της χώρας επιταχύνει την ανάπτυξη του Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit (TALOS), του συστήματος που θα ‘συνδέσει’ τους στρατιώτες – exoskeleton-mounted computer system for the soldier of tomorrow.
Μια σειρά συστημάτων μάλιστα: “[The] requirement is a comprehensive family of systems in a combat armor suit where we bring together an exoskeleton with innovative armor, displays for power monitoring, health monitoring, and integrating a weapon into that – a whole bunch of stuff that the US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) is playing heavily in,” λέει ο κος Karl Borjes, του Στρατού των ΗΠΑ – command’s science adviser.
Το πρόγραμμα ανακοινώθηκε από την ειδική υπηρεσία – United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), και το TALOS έφερε στην USSOCOM 80 αντιπροσώπους της βιομηχανίας να ενδιαφέρονται και 10 πανεπιστήμια.
Ήδη στο TALOS δοκιμάζονται εμπορικοί εξωσκελετοί αλλά και το ΑΚΡΩΣ εντυπωσιακό της ‘υγρής θωράκισης” – liquid armor που σκληραίνει με το χτύπημα. Μαζί και high-tech προμήθειες αλλά και “micro-generation systems” αφού για όλα αυτά χρειάζεται… κάτι: ενέργεια! Η USSOCOM θέλει να επιταχύνει τα πάντα: “Because of the technical challenges and the compressed timeline, we are going to take more ownership on the government side than we typically take,” λέει ο κος Michael Fieldson, USSOCOM TALOS project manager.
“We are really changing the process. The reason we are doing that is to try to streamline the overall effort and drive down both the cost and the schedule. That way, we get the best possible equipment to our force as quickly as possible.”
Και βιάζονται: θέλουν πρωτότυπο του TALOS prototype το 2014 και το ετοιμοπόλεμο σύστημα το 2018…!
