To ‘απόρρητο’ τμήμα του γίγαντα μας δείχνει μια ιδέα του: νέα autonomous delivery drones.
Ονομάζεται Project Wing και ήταν ένα μυστικό project με στόχο ένα “a delivery system that uses self-flying vehicles.” Με άλλα λόγια αυτόνομα ρομποτικά αεροσκάφη.
Γενικά στο Google X από το οποίο βγήκε το Google Glass, ο φακός επαφής που μετρά τα επίπεδα γλυκόζης, μπαλόνια που παρέχουν internet σε απομακρυσμένες περιοχές, αλλά και το Batmanικό Project Tango mobile κινητό που χαρτογραφεί το περιβάλλον σε 3D, έχει σαν στόχο να δει τι μπορεί να γίνει και πως.
Το νέο σχέδιο έχει στόχο κάτι που δεν ξέρω αν ευχόμαστε ή απευχόμαστε να έχουμε. “Throughout history there have been a series of innovations that have each taken a huge chunk out of the friction of moving things around,” λέει ο άνθρωπος της Google X, ο Astro Teller (…). “Project Wing aspires to take another big chunk of the remaining friction out of moving things around in the world.”
Μετά την Amazon και το Project Wing που μετά από δύο χρόνια ετοίμασε ένα πρώτο σκάφος, Chickadee 6 που θα δείτε στο βίντεο. Θα ετοιμάσουν τελικά ένα: “reliable system that can do autonomous delivery.” In addition, he says the tests will help the team to learn what it’s like to actually make a deliveries to someone using the technology and what it’s like for the recipient.
