Η Apple αποκάλυψε το δικό της σχέδιο για face shield και μάλιστα τις παράγει σε ποσότητες. Σύμφωνα λοιπόν με ένα νέο post του Tim Cook στο Twitter η εταιρίας με το…
…μισοφαγωμένο μήλο ετοίμασε την πρόταση της για αυτό που ονομάζεται personal protective equipment (PPE).
“We’ve launched a company-wide effort, bringing together product designers, engineering, operations, and packaging teams, and our suppliers, to design, produce, and ship face shields for health workers,” είπε ο Tim Cook στο Twitter.
Η εταιρία λέει πως με το σχέδιο είναι εφικτό να φεύγουν ποσότητες σε επίπεδα κουτιά που χωράνε 100 τεμάχια. Έχουν ήδη παραδώσει στην California και ετοιμάζονται να κατασκευάσουν ένα εκατομμύριο τεμάχια μέσα σε αυτή την εβδομάδα και από ένα εκατομμύρια κάθε εβδομάδα σε ΗΠΑ και Κίνα.
“Our first shipment was delivered to Kaiser hospital facilities in Santa Clara Valley this past week, and the feedback was very positive. We’re sourcing materials and manufacturing in US and China. We plan to ship over one million by the end of this week, and over one million per week after that.We are closely coordinating with medical professionals and government officials across the US to get these to where they’re needed most urgently. We hope to quickly expand distribution beyond the US,” είπε π Cook.
Η εταιρία τονίζει πάντως πως κάθε τεμάχιο πρέπει να συνδυάζεται με μάσκα και τον λοιπό εξοπλισμό: “Intended to be worn with PPE. The device has not been tested or qualified to prevent or reduce infection, and does not provide particulate filtration.”
